Independence Day and Tea

  • Happy Treason Day and Happy Fourth of July! Today is the day when America gained independence from the Brits. It all started with the Tea Party.
  • John Hancock was trying to smuggle tea into the states so they didn’t have to pay Parliamentary taxes on it to the British.
  • Dumping tea may not have been the best choice in this case but I do love black tea, which is why everyone thinks that is why I am so happy and so bouncy most of the time.

Hey everybody; it’s Shauna, correspondent here for you from Without Bags. Today is July 4th. It’s Independence Day here in the United States and one of my favorite parts about Independence Day is how this whole thing actually started, or at least in my opinion how it started. It was with John Hancock trying to smuggle tea into the states so they didn’t have to pay Parliamentary taxes on it to the British. So if you know me, if you know my travels, I love tea. I try tea everywhere in the world that I go and honestly, my favorite tea is black tea and at the moment, my top black tea actually comes from India. So I have a big 30 oz glass of black tea every morning. Pretty much everybody thinks that’s why I’m so happy and so bouncy most of the time, and I believe it. I love black tea. So what’s your favorite kind of tea and where is it from? Where in the world is your favorite kind of tea? All of the sudden, I’m picture Carmen San Diego on the hunt for tea. So anyway, I think that she’d need a red hat. Hope you guys are all having a fantastic July 4th. Happy Independence Day to anyone here in the states and we’ll talk to you later. Shauna, a correspondent from Without Bags. All right, thanks. Bye.
